It would just be too hard to extract everything out and we couldn't possibly simplify things like we like. Chaosium said that Runequest = Glorantha and you couldn't do anything else, so there wouldn't be a Runequest: Glorantha because that is just silly when they are the same. They pulled the license for Runequest from TDM. It's been gone over a bit on other boards, but the short of it is that the design mechanism apparently didn't meet their royalty targets for Runequest 6 (according to VP of Chaosium). It is a fine little QuickStart, but there are others that are better in my mind.
I would say that it is definitely the system for those who disliked Mongoose Runequest but really need a new hit of Runequest rule tweaks. Even the glorantha fans have been kind of meh. The general response I've read (3 different boards of generic stuff, I'm on the BRP board and the Mythras board as well) has been largely "meh". They put in a resistance table, which some folks like, but frankly I find to be a poor solution. You can use them to augment your skills in Mythras as well. Passions have been around for a long time - they came out of Pendragon iirc.
Largely, they are ignoring the existence of the mongoose branch of Runequest, which includes Mythras and Runequest 6.
